Hayden Beaty_Final Project_Story and References

Story:
It all began nearly a millennia ago, in the far-off lands of Ur-Yul, a distance realm from that of humanity on earth. In this time, the creators descended from above, bringing gifts to the land. Their many generosities brought Ur-Yul's civilization to what seemed to be infinitesimal prosperity, as the lands grew with agriculture, and cities began to grow and expand. This gifts came in many forms, some that would aid in simple tasks such as farming or raising families, and other imbedded with magic. In this realm, magic coursed through the veins of but a few, allowing those whom wield certain gifts of the creators, unimaginable power. There were those who wished to harness this power for the good, and further prosperity of civilization; but there were also those whom were blinded with greed for the power which some of the gifts possessed.

Corii, a street-dweller of Great Britain '56, has been forced to live the unforgiving life of a common thief, living off of payment of commissioned jobs and the money out of strangers' trousers. Having never known her parents, let alone her heritage, Corii spend her young years in a neglecting foster home. She ended up sneaking out at the age of 12, and continued living on the streets up until the age of 23. She learned a few tricks about a magician's 'slide of hand' and was able to become quite the able pick-pocket.

All her life, really for as far back as she can remember, Corii has seen visions of what she believes to be her mother and father. Every few months, she would either have a reoccurring dream, or even visions while conscious, blocking her out from reality. One day, a vision showed her a blurry image of an antique shop, something a vision has never shown her before. In that antique shop, the only thing she could make sense of at the time, was a glowing, golden plated helmet, sitting amongst dusty old dolls, trinkets and books.

Breaking in that night was only the beginning. Upon coming in contact with the helmet that lay before her, rustic and old, Corii became enveloped in a bright light, sapping her strength and putting her into a deep slumber. When she awoke, Corii found herself in the land of Ur-Yul, still clutching the the helmet that she had meant to seek answers from the other night. Surely this wasn't a dream.

Corii had been culled to Ur-Yul by her parents, the Creators, the ones whom gave society the gifts, of knowledge, strength and power. It was her destiny to reclaim the lost relics of their time, the most powerful of gifts bestowed by the Creators; the Legendary Armor. This magical wear would grant the user unfathomable power that was intended to unite civilization, ending all further conflict and war.

Now Corii, daughter of the Creators, must go forth and scour the land in search for the Legendary Armor spoke about in myths, all while an evil lurks just over the horizon. With nothing more than the same motive as Ur-Yul's thief, he Deity of Shadows craves the power left behind by the Creators. If given the chance, the Deity will reforge the armor in his own image, giving him the power of limitless magic, power that would even surpass the Creators themselves.
